Description
Aemono is a student-run restaurant that is part of the bigger International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California-Sunnyvale. The menu, which is created by chefs and students, changes seasonally. All menu items are sourced from within a 150 mile radius, and the restaurant was given Green Business status by Santa Clara county in March of 2009. Among the restaurant's green initiatives are energy-efficient equipment, fully recycled and fully compostable containers, green cleaning
products, and leftovers are donated to a local food bank. Additionally, cooking oil from the restaurant is converted into biofuel for Oakland city busses.
