Lapa Rios is nestled within the rain forests of the Osa Peninsula. One of the wildest areas in Costa Rica, the rain forests of this region were described by National Geographic as being among the most biologically intense on Earth. Lapa Rios strives to have as little impact upon these rich forests as possible which results in excellent wildlife viewing opportunities right around the lodge. Many excursions are offered away from the lodge as well including hikes along the coast, overnight hikes
deep within the rain forest wilderness, night hikes to experience the nocturnal wonders of the rain forest, playing soccer with the locals, watching birds, visiting jungle waterfalls, and more.
